One of the best perks of being a PS Plus Premium subscriber is getting to stream PS4 games and a host of retro PlayStation classics via the PlayStation Plus PC app. In this PlayStation Plus PC guide, we'll show you how to access the service, cover any problems you're likely to encounter, and give you a list of all the PS Plus games available for streaming right now.

PS Plus PC games 鈥 latest news and updates

While we wait for the PlayStation Plus January 2024 additions to be announced, you can now access the PS Plus Extra and Premium games for December 2023 via PS Plus on PC. Only three games are seemingly unavailable from this month's selection 鈥 Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Thrillville, and Thrillville Off the Rails.

As a trade off, you will no longer be able to access the games that left PS Plus in December 2023, such as Middle-Earth Shadow of Mordor and Yakuza Like A Dragon. You also still aren't able to stream PS5 quality games on PS Plus PC, so don't expect to jump into the superior version of GTA V anytime soon.

Aside from a PC to play on (and a decent internet connection), first things first: you鈥檒l need a PlayStation Plus Premium account. While PlayStation Plus Extra will grant you access on PS4 and PS5 to a considerable library of downloadable games, cloud streaming is only available to Premium subscribers. Make sure that the highest tier account in your region is PS Plus Premium and not PS Plus Deluxe. Deluxe accounts cannot access cloud gaming services due to region issues and so, tragically, cannot join Premium subscribers in accessing PlayStation Plus on PC.

You do not need to own a PlayStation console to access PlayStation Plus on PC, however, you will need a DualShock 4 controller to play games. Some third-party controllers, like the Xbox One controller, might work with the help of a third-party program like XInput, but this isn't guaranteed to work with every game on the service or on every PC.

Kingdom Hearts III can be accessed on PlayStation Plus PC.

Where can I download PlayStation Plus PC?

You can download the PlayStation Plus on PC app on the PlayStation website via the support page 鈥 which is here if you鈥檙e in the US, and here if you鈥檙e in the UK. For your home region, it鈥檚 best to navigate to the support page on the main PlayStation website yourself, just to make sure you鈥檙e downloading the right version of the client.

Can I access PlayStation Plus on PC via Mac?

While you can access PlayStation Remote Play on both PC and Mac, there is no compatibility for PlayStation Plus PC on Mac. It鈥檚 a real shame, as there should feasibly be very few barriers in the way of Sony making this streaming service run on that platform.

PlayStation Plus on PC has a host of PS2 and PS3 games on offer as well.

Why can't I find the PS Plus game I'm looking for on PC?

PlayStation Plus on PC is a few games short of the full PS Plus Premium games library for various reasons. One reason is due to PS5 games being ineligible for streaming on platforms outside of the PS5, so exclusives like Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart will remain unavailable on PS Plus PC.

These titles are often missing with no evident reason, with the likely problem being licensing related issues. Can I earn trophies via PlayStation Plus on PC?

This is the big one: you can earn trophies by playing PlayStation Plus PC games. Looking to put a few more hours into Ghost of Tsushima to get closer to that 'Living Legend' platinum trophy? Now you can do so from the comfort of your office desk or while lazing on your laptop.

Will my save file on PC carry over to my PS4/PS5?

The answer is definitely. In fact, this is one of the best features of PlayStation Plus on PC 鈥 the ability to save your game on PS5 or PS4 and pick up your adventure on your laptop or PC feels almost like magic when done right.

If you鈥檙e playing a game entirely via streaming, there鈥檚 nothing to worry about 鈥 your save file will be stored directly in cloud storage and your game will know to use your cloud storage file regardless of where you stream it.

It doesn't get much more multiplayer than The Elder Scrolls Online.

Can I play multiplayer games via PlayStation Plus PC?

The answer to this question is yes with some caveats. If the game you鈥檙e playing has online functionality and its servers are still active, you should be able to play online multiplayer with no problem. However, if you鈥檙e looking to play split-screen or local multiplayer, only a maximum of two players can join on a single PC.

Can I use voice chat while playing via PlayStation Plus PC?

Yes, but there is a catch 鈥 your headset will have to run through your computer rather than through your DualShock 4's audio port. For most of us, that鈥檚 no problem, but if you鈥檙e used to playing your PlayStation games with a headset plugged directly into your controller, you鈥檒l need a different set-up when playing PlayStation Plus on PC.

Can I change the look of the PlayStation Plus PC app?

Unfortunately, no. This is something we have talked about ourselves in our article on PlayStation Plus on PC's problems 鈥 at present, the app lacks a lot of commonplace features like the ability to sort, filter, and even search for games. It's something we hope Sony will amend in the future.
