A Real Nice Surprise
The first night I was in Danville was paid for by my company, and they have Choice Rewards and they put me up here at the Quality Inn in Danville, The other 5 nights I booked at the new Hampton Inn next door. I was a little apprehensive about staying here because I have had poor experiences with Quality Inn, but when I looked this place up online I found out this was a former Hampton Inn, you can tell when you drive up and go inside that this is a former Hampton Inn. I was impressed with the upkeep of the rooms and was actually quite pleased with my stay, the beds were great. I stayed on the second floor. I did not see an indoor swimming pool here though which was a bummer for the kids. I was not happy with their breakfast, not very many choices for breakfast at this hotel. Area is safe and mostly quiet. All in all this is a pretty good Quality Inn location.

Older Hotel That Is Very Well Maintained
This is an older hotel converted over from a different property that is very well maintained and has excellent service. Tim at the front desk is a cool guy and just starts your stay off on the right foot. He is very personable and offers ideas around the area as far as dining options go. The hotel is older but very clean and that is a props to the housekeeping staff because if it wasnt so well maintained it would fall a drop below the average Hampton Inn. That being said, Tim told me a brand spanking new Hampton Inn that will open in about 2 months is being built down the road. I cant wait to stay there because with the top notch staff they already have plus the new accommodations it will make it one of the best mid level hotels around.

Stay at your own risk
This is one of the most reasonably priced hotels in the city, the staff was polite, and the hotel was clean overall but be careful. I was overcharged on my card on 2 different stays and it took OVER 3 weeks to get a refund both times. Getting in touch with management was like pulling teeth. The first time I was over charged almost $800 and the second time it was $128 the day AFTER I checked out. They really need to invest in a new system or a quick way to resolve giving back refunds from the customer being overcharged. So stay at your own risk.

POS QI! Stay at The Comfort Inn
No Wifi. No Pool. Minimalist Nothing Hot Breakfast (and microwaving a Jimmy Dean Frozen biscuit does not count as "hot") Desk staff and GM absolutely couldn't give a damn about my dissatisfaction. When I spoke to GM about adjusting my room rate due to the false advertising, was simply blown off. I could have had better wifi service at an Econolodge. Will Not be back.

Good location to VIR track but don’t stay here.
This is a 2 star hotel with a 5 star fee! Too expensive for a cheap breakfast, pool doesn’t work, crappy room hotel. Will never stay here again. Come on management give customers what they pay for and stop being so cheap on your breakfast!! So tired of everyone ripping off people because they can!!!

Amazing Staff!
The hotel was nice , clean and had a good breakfast selection. The staff is AMAZING! The manager went above and beyond our expectations making us feel welcome and taking great care of us! We came to see our newest baby in our family and the manager and his staff even gave us a congrats card! We will definitely be staying here when we return this summer!
Stay at this hotel you won’t regret it! Also EVERYTHING is very close by .... bonus!

A Good Stay That Will Get Better
Six friends stayed here one night on a weekend trip. The current Hampton Inn is a converted Quality Inn but has the familiar Hampton Inn touches. A new Hampton Inn is being built about 100 yards away and will be open in early 2021. The service was excellent and the manager, Patrick, was outstanding and always ensuring things were just as we wanted. The nighttime front desk person was extremely helpful with restaurant suggestions and helping us try to locate what we thought was a missing cell phone. Based on the staff alone, I would definitely stay here again.

Not Rated correctly
If booking from a 3rd party site, it does not state they will cancel your reservation if you don’t check in by 3am the following morning, I arrived at 5am to find that my reservation was canceled. In addition, the lack of communication about the reservation being canceled is unprofessional and inconvenient. I travel a lot and this is the first time I have ever had my reservation cancelled for not checking in on the first day of my trip. I always book an additional day in case of travel emergencies or delays. I have had other hotels call or email me to confirm arrival time either the morning of or after a few hours past their posted check in time. After driving all night, I had to figure out where I was going to sleep for the day since my room was no longer reserved. Although the overnight staff was friendly, they seemed very oblivious to how to remedy the situation and was preoccupied entertaining the demands of a phone call which was later discovered to be a scammer directing her to break into the managers office. I was placed in a room for the time being until the supervisor could show up, who also was not very knowledgeable and refused to accept accountability for the lack of communication and false information. I refused to stay at that establishment for the following reasons: the bathroom was disgusting, toilet did not flush, mold residue in the shower, the beds had blood stains on the blanket, sheets and mattress, and more. I left and I had to forfeit 1 nights pay.

Bad hotel, bad corporate office - just bad.
Do not stay at this hotel. It is generally in bad shape. The pool is completely abandoned and does not look like it has been used in years.
The exit door on the west side of the building has its bottom kick plate broken which causes the door to stay open about 4 inches. This is a severe security breach.
The AC in our room didn't work very well. It was set for 68 degrees and got to maybe 74 degrees at best.
I called the hotel the next day and asked for the property management name. I ended up talking to a VERY rude woman who would not give me the name. She kept insisting on my name, phone number, reservation number, etc. I told the idiot I had other ways to get that information, so her efforts were meaningless. And yes, I know that it is Riverside Motel Corporation which I am currently contacting.
I also called Choice Hotels corporate office. It turns out that it is based in India ( groan ). They too would not give me the property management company without a name, phone number, etc. etc. I said a few choice expletives and told them that they were probably just another one of the thousands of scam call centers in India. I actually will not do any financial business with ANY call center based in India. You have NO WAY of knowing if the call center is legitimate, a scam center or a hybrid office that is doing legit and scam work. It is no wonder this hotel chain is so poorly run and in such bad shape. Don't stay at ANY Choice brand hotel.
I will pay the extra and go back to using Marriott brand. No, they aren't perfect, but their hotels are in much better shape overall. Their corporate office is also based in the United States.

Cheap place to sleep
I picked this hotel as it had pretty good reviews but also was one of the cheapest hotels in the area. As I was arriving late, and planned to leave early the next day, amenities weren't at the top of my list of priorities; only a safe, clean, and quiet place to catch some sleep. I didn't even turn on the TV. Cell signal was good, so I never connected to WiFi, either. The room was clean and in decent condition, but it was obvious it was in need of a renovation. Toilet seat was loose, tub faucet was not lined up to the plumbing, loose panel on the AC unit. Nothing was a a big issue. Plenty of hot water for a morning shower. Bathroom had a weird setup, with a wall in the bathroom very near the bathroom door - you had to be very careful of how you held the door was you opened it as there was very little clearance between the door and wall when you opened it.
