Harrisburg police say a man who hailed a cab to take him home to Susquehanna Township was pulled from the cab and attacked by robbers.
The 25-year-old man told police he got in a cab around 2:30 this morning at North Third and Forster streets, The driver stopped at a bar near North Third and Forster, another man opened the door, pulled the man out of the car and threw him to the roadway.
The man said he was then attacked and beaten by two robbers as he got up to walk away. Two cell phones and other items were taken from him, and the robbers got into a waiting car and sped off, police say.
The victim went to the police department, arranged to activate a GPS system on one of the phones, and police say they were able to locate a car matching the victim's description in the 1400 block of Market Street. Police say the victim's two phones were found inside the car.
The driver of the car, Carolyn McMurren, 25, of Harrisburg, and the two passengers, Kristopher Barnes, 20, of York, and Matthew Hughes, 22, of York, were charged with robbery and conspiracy. All three were sent to Dauphin County Prison in lieu of bail.
Police say it was not clear if the cab driver had a part in the robbery.
