Django Unchained Character Banner – Jamie FoxxBy far one of the most anticipated films of the year, Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained is finally just weeks away from its release on Christmas Day in the US.

After the brilliant theatrical poster landed yesterday, the film has relaunched a new official website, and with its comes a great new set of character banners, along with a sixty-second preview from The Weinstein Company.

“Set in the South two years before the Civil War, DJANGO UNCHAINED stars Academy Award(R)-winner Jamie Foxx as Django, a slave whose brutal history with his former owners lands him face-to-face with German-born bounty hunter Dr. King Schultz (Academy Award(R)-winner Christoph Waltz). Schultz is on the trail of the murderous Brittle brothers, and only Django can lead him to his bounty. The unorthodox Schultz acquires Django with a promise to free him upon the capture of the Brittles–dead or alive.”

Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, and Leonardo DiCaprio lead a terrific cast, starring alongside Kerry Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, Jonah Hill, Don Johnson, and Walton Goggins.

Tarantino is naturally once more directing from his own script, reuniting with executive producers Bob and Harvey Weinstein.

Django Unchained will be released in the US on Christmas Day, and will be coming to the UK slightly later for an 18th January release in the New Year. I can’t wait; this looks fantastic. For now, here’s the great new preview, followed by the set of banners, which you can click through to enlarge.

Since graduating, I spend as much time as possible watching films/TV shows, reading books, and listening to music. So getting to write about what I love is nothing short of awesome. Biggest film-related hope for 2014/ever: Guy Ritchie announcing the RocknRolla sequel is finally moving forward.
