Canada “Sunny Cup” Seniors’ Series Table Tennis Friendship Tournament (Season 3)

This is an event with the purpose of revitalizing and energizing the healthy, active lifestyle of seniors. Canada “Sunny Cup” Seniors’ Series Table Tennis tournament will take place in March of 2023. Important information is as follows:

Eligibility

1. All seniors living in Canada aged 50 years and older (not limited to gender) who are interested in table tennis are eligible to participate.
2. All participants must be willing to participate, with support from their friends and family. When signing up, the Voluntary Participation Waiver must also be attached.

Event Details

1. Singles (both men and women) total of 32 people
2. Doubles (both men and women) total of 16 teams

Event Rules

1. The first round of matches will be in a round robin with randomly selected groups. The following rounds will be elimination matches.
2. All matches will be won best of 3 out of 5, with the first group to reach 11 points per round.
3. Butterfly 40+ international competition standard table tennis balls will be used in this event.
4. This competition will follow the rules outlined in the Table Tennis Rules outlined by Table Tennis Canada.

Singles: March 20 and 22, 2023 (Monday and Wednesday) 1:00-3:00 pm

Doubles: March 21 and 23, 2023 (Tuesday and Thursday), 1:00-3:00 pm

Event Sign-up

Seniors older than 65 participate for free while seniors younger than 65 must pay a sign-up fee of $10.00/per person. During the competition, participants can use tickets provided to enter the facility free of charge. Sign-up starts immediately, and ends on March 18, 2023. If the sign-up window is missed, then participants will be placed in the following event.

Event Awards

The first place in both AB groups will be awarded trophies and medals, and the second and third places will be awarded medals. The fourth to eighth place will be awarded a gift card (worth $10) sponsored by Sunny Table Tennis Club.

Judges

Judges and referees will be provided by the Canada Sunny International Table Tennis Association.

加拿大“阳光杯”长者系列乒乓球友谊赛（第三季）通知

2023年3月

为丰富退休长者的健康生活，活跃长者乒乓球活动，第三期加拿大“阳光杯”长者系列乒乓球友谊赛将于2023年3月举行。本活动由加拿大联邦政府 “New Horizons for Seniors” 项目资助。现将有关事项通知如下：

一、主办单位

加拿大阳光国际乒乓球协会

二、协办单位

阳光老年俱乐部

三、参赛资格

1、凡加拿大境内50周岁以上，热爱乒乓球的球友（男女不限）均可参加比赛。

2、参加友谊赛以本人自愿、亲属支持为原则。报名时，须附 《自愿参赛免责书》。

四、比赛方法

（一）比赛项目

1、单打、双打（男女均可）

2、比赛分为50岁- 64岁组、65岁以上组

3、每个组别单打16人，双打八组

（二）比赛规则

1、比赛第一轮为分组循环赛，抽签分组，每组4人。第二轮为淘汰赛，决出一至四名。

2、所有比赛均采用3局2胜11分制。

3、比赛使用蝴蝶 40+白色国际比赛用球。

4、比赛执行加拿大乒协审订的《乒乓球竞赛规则》的相关规则。

五、比赛时间

单打：2023年3月20日、22日（周一、周三下午 1:00 – 3:00）

双打： 2023年3月21日、23日（周二、周四下午 1:00 – 3:00）

七、比赛报名

65岁及以上免收报名费，65岁以下收取报名费$10/人。比赛期间参赛者凭主办发放的入场券免费进场。即日起开始报名，报名额满为止。报名截至日期：3月18日。报名截止后仍有报名者，将安排下一次比赛。

八、比赛奖励

第一名奖励奖杯和奖牌，第二、第三名奖励奖牌。第四名至第八名均奖励由阳光乒乓球俱乐部赞助的礼品卡一张（价值$10）。

九、裁判

本届友谊赛裁判长、裁判员由比赛组委会统一安排。

十、本次比赛规程解释权属加拿大阳光国际乒乓球协会。
